DFA chief ‘aborts’ diplomatic protest against Turkey | Manila Bulletin – Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. on Friday said his plan to file a diplomatic protest against Turkey was “aborted” after a “swift response” from Turkish Ambassador to Manila Artemiz Sumer. The planned diplomatic protest against Turkey was due to allegation that its government met with officials of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) without the knowledge and imprimatur of the Philippine government.
Cavite councilor falls in drug bust | The Manila Times – A city councilor and a barangay (village) tanod were arrested in a drug bust conducted in Dasmariñas City in Cavite on Friday. Police said shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P3.4 million was seized from the duo. The Dasmariñas City Police Station said Councilor Pacalinog Rasul, 52, and Taratingan Ala, 63, were arrested in a joint operation of the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
