Marcos said that history professors and experts in the field of political science should handle textbooks rather than political appointees. The former senator said his family has been calling for the revision of textbooks for years, but those in power were “under the influence of our opposition”. Marcos’ remarks came after several charges against his family were dismissed.
3 major airlines to help bring OFWs home amid US-Iran tension | PHILSTAR.COM – The Philippine government said three major airlines will help in the possible repatriation of Filipino workers in the Middle East amid conflict between the US and Iran. In a statement Friday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said carriers Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines and AirAsia promised to provide aid for affected Filipino migrant workers. “Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines have agreed to accommodate free of charge stranded Filipinos in the UAE or in any of its available Middle East flights, once the plans for the repatriation has been outlined,” CAAP Director General Jim Sydiongco said. “Air Asia on the other hand has agreed to the possible allocation and free accommodation of repatriated Filipinos that need to go back to their respective provinces in their domestic flights,” Sydiongco added.

Burned bodies in car believed to be ex-lawmaker, companions | The Manila Times – TIAONG, Quezon: Three skeletal remains, burnt beyond recognition and believed to be that of a former Batangas congressman and two companions, were found inside a car on Thursday morning in Barangay San Francisco in this town. The Tiaong Police chief, Maj. Lawrence Panganiban, said identification cards were found inside the Honda Civic with license plates DND 6374, identifying the former lawmaker. Mendoza’s relatives confirmed the car belongs to him.
