DA chief: No funds to cover pig deaths | PHILIPPINE STAR – After losing their pigs to African swine fever (ASF) or forced culling, hog raisers are left with not much help from the government, which has admitted a lack of funds to help them recover their losses. Agriculture Secretary William Dar said his department can only provide loans for affected hog raisers, but not reimbursement for pigs that died of the disease or were culled.

The President issued the directive in a bid to mitigate the impact of the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia’s two oil refineries on the country.
Rogue major ‘ninja‘ boss | DAILY TRIBUNE – The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now hot on the trail of 22 “ninja cops” suspected of being involved in the recycling of illegal drugs seized during government operations. PNP Chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde yesterday said the 22 rogue PNP personnel were taken from the original 87 names suspected of having involvement in the illegal drug trade.
2 other PMA hazing victims in hospital | THE MANILA TIMES – Two other cadets of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) who were subjected to hazing rites are being treated in a hospital, the military admitted on Monday as two academy officials were dismissed over the hazing death of Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio. Brig. Gen. Edgard Arevalo, spokesman for the Armed Forces of the Philippines, refused to identify the two victims, but said they were both fourth-class cadets (freshmen).
House seeks budget revision | MANILA STANDARD – The House of Representatives will seek changes to the 2020 national government budget that it passed Friday to finance the right-of-way claims that the government must pay for its infrastructure projects. The changes will mean the realignment of some P10 billion, Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano said on Monday.

No manhunt yet in Davao Region | SUNSTAR DAVAO – FIVE days after the 15-day grace period given by President Rodrigo Duterte, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao said that they have not yet conducted a massive manhunt pending the master list of heinous crime convicts (HCC) from the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) and Department of Justice (DOJ). In an interview with PRO-Davao spokesperson Police Major Jason Baria Monday, September 23, he said they expect the master list and consolidated names of HCC.
