Lagundi or Vitex negundo is a famous shrub that grows in the Philippines. It is one of the ten herbal medicines endorsed by the Department of Health as an effective herbal medicine with proven therapeutic value. Here are its preparation and uses:
* Topical paste. Used as anti-inflammation and analgesia in cases of rheumatism, arthritis, muscle pains, headache, and fever. The paste is prepared by pounding Lagundi leaves and heating to warm then apply to the affected area until the condition improves.
* Decoction and Tea. Used for washing wounds, vaginal douche, for gargling to treat mouth sores and sore throat, and as a bronchodilator in cases of coughs and asthma. Mix one cup of cut fresh leaves and flowers to 2 cups of water. Boil for 10 minutes. Let it steep and strain the solid parts. Tea: take 1/2 cup, three times a day until the condition improves.
According to Medical Health Guide, Lagundi use is widely accepted as it is safe for children and adults to use and no adverse reaction has been reported. However, moderate use is recommended for pregnant women, and treatment should not exceed one week. And, if symptoms persist and irritation occurs, stop the use and consult your doctor.

I was taking branded antibacterial med for my asthma for 7 days but still suffering my coughing condition.. It heal for 2 days but it came back again and again til almost 1 month, i took some med for just coughing but there’s no improvement.. So i decided to take a lagundi fresh herbal as my tea from my garden and i drink anytime i want some hot drink.. So unbelievable i am ok now. And even dont have cough i still drinking as my tea.. Instead of coffe or tea bags from the market.. Its helpful and much save,,, just love it
how about dried lagundi leaves, is it also effective?boil the dried leaves and drink it,is it ok?
