Our immune system, liver, and kidney are responsible for eliminating toxins as soon as these enter our body. Though our body can cleanse itself, we also need to help our body by detoxing.
Detoxification is a process in which one’s body has to get rid of toxins by abstaining from alcohol, drugs, and other unhealthy substances.
Below are signs that our body needs a detox:
- Skin Reactions
Our liver is responsible for eliminating most of the toxins in our body. If our body is overload with toxins, the liver could not keep up and the other organs will try to flush toxins through the skin, which will react badly because it is perceived as poison. This effect is one of the reasons for our acne, eczema, skin rashes, etc.
If you experience any of these, try a detoxing diet composed of vegetables and drink so much water. Remember to always consult your doctor and stay hydrated.
2. Constipation
Our body needs at least 1-2 bowel movements a day. If you find yourself experiencing constipation, it’s a sign that you lack anti-oxidants in your diet. If you don’t eliminate toxins through bowel movement, toxins will be absorbed in your bloodstream.
To get rid of constipation, bloatedness, and prevent toxins in your bloodstream, make sure to be properly hydrated and include fiber and ant-oxidants in your diet.
3. Weight Gain
Gaining weight despite having daily exercises could be a sign of high toxins in our body. It may also mean that you have lipophilic toxins stored in your body fats. Lipophilic toxins cause the body to produce more fat cells to store more toxins in it. Thus, it is hard to lose weight unless you get rid of these toxins.
4. Constant Fatigue
Our body needs at least 8 hours of sleep to recharge and rest. Have you ever felt that even though you have enough sleep you still feel tired? Maybe it’s a sign that you have a lot of toxins in your body. Excessive toxins create stress in your adrenal glands while long-term toxic load can lead to adrenal fatigue, and that explains your tiredness and feeling sleepy all the time.
5. Body Odor
Bad breath, bad smell gas, and stools are other signs of a high toxic load in your body. Also, it means that the liver and colon are struggling to remove toxins. To do a complete flush and detox the liver, take lemon juice and olive oil.
For a healthy body, stay hydrated, exercise regularly, and make sure to have a healthy diet. If you have doubts and you feel uneasy, always consult a doctor!
Happy detoxing everyone!
