We are all saddened and shocked when Christopher “Boyet” De Leon announced that he tested positive of Covid-19 last March 17 .
He affirmed on his Instagram post that he doesn’t have any travel history outside the country and had no contact with anyone who’s Covid positive.
In an exclusive interview with Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho, Boyet detailed how worried he was when he learned of his condition. He also fears for his wife’s (Sandy Andalong) health.
“Ang fear ko ay towards my children and the people in the house, most especially to my wife. A KT (Kidney Transplant) patient. Mababa ang immune system niya so ‘yun ang ipinagdarasal ko… Wag naman po na pati asawa ko magkaroon nito.” he said.
When Sandy was asked how she felt about Boyet’s situation, “Noong nagkasakit ka (Boyet), what went through my mind was, sana ako na lang. Okay na ako, ‘wag lang ang asawa ko. Nakita ko ‘yung lalim ng pagmamahal ko sa kaniya.” she said.
Boyet also mentioned that he got lucky for he didn’t experience severe symptoms of COVID-19. According to him, it might be because he’s health conscious.
After 7 days of medical treatment, the actor tested negative twice and was ordered to go home.
Jessica Soho told Boyet that she sees his healing as more of spiritual than physical. He agreed to this and said, “Yes! The reason I was healed is because it’s not of my strength. It’s all the strength of the Almighty God who’s giving it to me.”
Boyet’s healing is also remarkable to the family for he got out of the hospital after the day that Christ has risen, Easter Sunday.
COVID-19 survivors were asked to donate plasma that will serve as antibodies to the patients who are still COVID positive. Christopher was one of those who readily gave and even offered to donate more if ever needed.
