God’s Strongest Warriors

“God gives the hardest battle to His strongest warrior.” Even though you have the most potent faith, you will ask, “Why me? When did I sign up for this battle?”
We all have close friends that we treat as family. A week ago, my best friend revealed that her husband had been diagnosed with a rare disease in the urinary system and needed to undergo a major operation. This is a very dear friend, not only because we have been friends since high school but because we have witnessed our growth, happiness, and challenges, and we remained through thick and thin. Her revelation made me sad, and I prayed even harder for them to get through this trial.
Even though I have substantial faith in God, I asked Him why? Not because my faith is failing but because I seek communication to understand why? Why do You always give the most challenging battle to your good children?
Here are some thoughts I realized from my own experience and from observing my friend’s circumstances:
1. He wanted to teach us humility.
Growing up, they raised us to be independent, and seeking help means weakness. When you’re in your most difficult times, it’s hard to admit that you need assistance because it requires humility.
Tumultuous situations open our eyes to recognize our inadequacies, and seeking help means strength. As the Bible says:
2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses so that the power of Christ can work through me.”
God is tapping us and teaching us to depend on Him.
2. He wanted us to realize that His promise is trustworthy.
Deuteronomy 31:8, “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Though you’re put to the test now, He is with you, and you’ll get through this battle because He’s carrying you.
3. There’s always a silver lining.
James 1:2-4 says, “Dear brothers and sisters when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”
God is teaching us that a great joy or blessing will come our way after these trials. He is teaching us that there’s HOPE if we depend on Him.
Overall, I realize that God does not give the most difficult challenge to His strongest soldiers. He creates the most formidable warriors out of life’s most difficult challenges. Rejoice for your challenges, for God is making a better version of you that’s soon to welcome His outpouring of love and blessings.
