Gordon says JBC agrees to update shortlist for Carpio’s SC post | INQUIRER.NET – Senator Richard Gordon, an ex-officio member of the Judicial Bar Council, said that the JBC agreed to refresh its previous list of the nominees to replace Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio who will be retiring on October 26 at the mandatory age of 70. Gordon mentioned Justice Diosdado Peralta, Justice Estrela Perlas-Bernabe, Justice Jose Reyes Jr. and Justice Andres Reyes, Jr. as those possible to be in the shortlist.

Oscar Albayalde, chief of the Philippine National Police, “can build a very, very strong case criminally and administratively”. Gordon, as Chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, said, “We have enough to get Albayalde”.
