Black Nazarene back in Quiapo Church in record time | INQUIRER.NET – The Traslacion or the procession of the life-size image of the Black Nazarene from the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park to the Quiapo Church began earlier than expected at a little past 4 a.m. It ended at Quiapo Church at around 8:49 p.m. on Thursday, marking the end of Traslacion 2020. The religious procession lasted for a little over 16 hours. It was about 5 hours faster than the 21 hours recorded in 2019.

Dumagat leader disputes MWSS claim of community support for Kaliwa Dam | PHILSTAR.COM – A Dumagat leader on Thursday disputed reports that his people have approved construction of the Kaliwa Dam, a project that will affect indigenous peoples’ communities in Rizal and Quezon. Marcelino Tena of the Tribal Center for Development Foundation, an NGO opposed to the dam project, said the MWSS and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples had “manipulated” members of the Dumagat communities to move the construction of the China-funded dam forward. The dam is touted as a solution to Metro Manila’s growing demand for water.

Justin Bieber reveals he has Lyme disease | The Manila Times – Pop super star Justin Bieber announced on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) that he has Lyme disease. In a post on Instagram, Bieber said he will address his struggle with the illness, which is contracted through a tick bite, in a YouTube documentary. “It’s been a rough couple years but getting the right treatment that will help treat this so far incurable disease and I will be back and better than ever,” the 25 year old entertainer wrote in the post’s caption.
