De Lima says Panelo can’t see significance of ban on entry to US of her jailers | INQUIRER.NET – Detained Sen. Leila De Lima said on Tuesday (Dec. 24) that presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo failed to understand the significance of a rider in the US spending law that would deny entry to the United States to Philippine officials responsible for keeping De Lima in jail. She further said the US State Department’s next step would be to determine the identity of officials or individuals responsible for persecuting her and to be covered by the travel ban.
On Christmas Eve, fuel prices go up | PHILSTAR.COM – Prices of diesel and kerosene products will be increased by over P1 per liter today. In separate advisories, oil firms said they would implement an increase of P1.15 per liter on diesel and P1.10 per liter on kerosene. There will be no adjustment on gasoline prices.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) last spotted Ursula at 315 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. It was carrying maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph. It was moving west-northwest at a speed of 30 kph.
