Grace Poe filed a bill to protect public school teachers and staff from “malicious accusations” of child abuse and compel the Department of Education to provide support on such cases. Poe filed Senate Bill 1189 or the “Teacher Protection Act” that seeks to “institutionalize measures to implement in all public schools clearly defined regulations for teachers on student discipline and classroom management.”

P2.5-B ‘shabu’ seized in Makati drug sting | The Manila Times – Over P2 billion worth of crystal meth or shabu was seized from the suspect in Makati City on Tuesday night. The Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) apprehended Liu Chao, identified as a Chinese national in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City at 11:45 p.m.Confiscated were plastic sachets of shabu placed in tea bags and dog food packaging weighing 371 kilograms with an estimated value of P2.522 billion. The suspect will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the “Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
