BREAKING: 1,075 people in PH has coronavirus disease – DOH | INQUIRER.NET – The number of persons infected with COVID-19 in the Philippines has surpassed the 1,000-mark as the Department of Health (DOH) documented 272 new cases as of Saturday afternoon. According to DOH, the total count of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 1,075, including 14 new deaths and 4 recoveries. The number of people who died in the country due to the illness has now reached 68 while 35 COVID-19 positive individuals have managed to recover.
Officials deny rumors of total, extended lockdown amid COVID-19 threat | PHILSTAR.COM – Officials on Friday denied that the government is imposing a total lockdown nor an expanded nationwide lockdown next week. The Presidential Security Group said circulating messages on a supposed “total lockdown” from March 28 to April 15 is false. Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles also nixed rumors that there will be military control starting next week, lockdown will be extended for another 60 days, and that public markets, including Divisoria, are closing.

Valenzuela extends tax deadlines | The Manila Times – Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian on Friday announced the extension of the deadline of real property tax payments, among others, because of the ongoing Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). He said the city council had passed three measures that effectively extended the payment deadlines and forgoing penalties for the taxes due by the end of March.
