DFA bulletin on the tanker explosion in South Korea

The Department of Foreign Affairs news bulletin disclosed that the Stolt Groeland tanker exploded while docked in Usan, South Korea on 27 September 2019. Fifteen Filipino seafarers and other crewmembers were safely evacuated from the said tanker. The same explosion caused fire to a nearby tanker that resulted to injuries to nine seafarers, two of whom are Filipinos.

The DFA assures that the Philippine Embassy in Seoul is closely coordinating with the South Korean authorities to ascertain the conditions of our kababayans and to provide necessary assistance.
