Here’s how Pinoys can earn amidst COVID-19 pandemic
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), unemployment in the Philippines is now at an all-time high with 7.3 million Filipinos jobless due to the coronavirus pandemic. During this uncertainty, we need jobs to sustain our families’ daily needs.
There are plenty of online part-time jobs available for Pinoys who want to earn from home. Whether you’re a fresh college graduate, senior high or high school graduate, freelancer, stay-at-home mom, and with or without working experience, you can find a suitable ‘raket’ for you.
Here are some of the alternative, part-time, or temporary jobs that you may look into to help us out during these trying times:
1. Online Tutor (OT)
There is a high demand for English-speaking tutors from the Philippines. For those with teaching skills, you can earn by being an online teacher to foreign students. The most popular subject is English and other in-demand subjects are Math and Sciences.
Many foreign tutorial centers such as South Korea, China, and Japan hire native online English speakers to teach foreign students to read, write, and speak English. Classes are usually via video conferencing which lasts for about 30 minutes per session. You can teach during your spare time and for as short as two to four hours a day.
