In 2013, Mr. Eric Cadavillo and Ms. Betty Cantiga started their business venture through a barbeque stand which later became a Food Park called “Z Compound” in Malingap Street, Quezon City.
The couple revealed that the “Z Compound – Food Park” is the first Food Park that set the trend in the food stalls market. Z Compound has food stalls, music, arts, and many more.
At the outset, their role delineations were clear, one will focus on Operations and the other one would handle Marketing.
The Z Compound was borne by their barbecue business expanded through “Black Betty with “Unli-chicken as its primary offering. The first few years of operations were doing as their concepts projected until the COVID-19 hits last year.
Betty and Eric made a fast shift plan to address if not overcome the effects of the pandemic. The couple decided to transfer to the province and open a new branch of Black Betty in Siain, Plaridel, Quezon. They have faith in their business concept and are motivated by the quote from The Alchemist, “And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
The new Black Betty branch in Siain, Plaridel is a game-changer in a coastal area along the Maharlika Highway of the 5th class Municipality of Quezon. Black Betty could easily be spotted for its kind of art that presents the place, the food, and it is pretty sure of the friends that you may make from the place. Their crossroad business due to the pandemic offers crossroad food offerings not only for land travelers going South of Luzon and even to the Visayas and Mindanao but also for the peripheral communities of Plaridel, Quezon
